A little more about me

My passion is policy, data and media, and the ways in which they intertwine. I love talking about policy, how it affects people, how it's communicated to them and whether it makes their life better. In particular, I am focused on the social impacts of climate change, particularly as it relates to migration.

As a Rotary Global Grant Scholar, I pursued a Master of Public Policy at the Hertie School in Berlin, Germany before joining Endeva full time as a Senior Analyst and Project Manager.

American University in Cairo

Center for Migration and Refugee Studies

Cairo, Egypt | December 2023

As a facet of my Master of Public Policy program at the Hertie School in Berlin, Germany, I participated in an exchange semester at the American University in Cairo in Cairo, Egypt. As my mater's degree specialization is in policy analysis with course concentrations in migration and refugee policy, AUC's Center for Migration and Refugee Studies was the perfect opportunity to explore these topics more deeply.

Through the Center for Migration and Refugee Studies, I was connected with the refugee-led and community-based organization Tafawol, where I was able to connect with Cairo's vibrant Sudanese community and learn more about the needs of Sudanese migrants in Cairo, which are increasingly pressing. Since returning to Berlin to finish out my studies, I have been able to maintain a connection to Tafawol as a volunteer through grant writing, even from Germany.

Hertie School

Master of Public Policy

Berlin, Germany | June 2024

I completed my Master of Public Policy at the Hertie School in Berlin, Germany in the spring of 2024. I specialized my degree in policy analysis with courses concentrated on climate, migration and refugee policy.

In 2022, I began my journey at Endeva through my Professional Year where I researched opportunities for African digital entrepreneurs and MSMEs along the green hydrogen value chains in Kenya, Namibia, and South Africa through lenses of environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

Through connections in my coursework, I had the opportunity to contribute to two different NGOs.

With Impact - Civil Society Research and Development, a Berlin-based organization, I worked as a project partner. Our project, Techne, involves connecting German-based Middle Eastern diaspora communities to the policymaking process as experts in the region.

With CoronaNet Research Project, I flexed my quantitative skills in RStudio through analysis and visualization of COVID-19 policy data. This project is one of the most expansive of its kind in the world.

Related coursework: Middle Eastern Diaspora as a Resource for Policymaking, Causal Inference & Statistical Data Analysis, Making Sense of Messy Data: Analyzing Government Response to COVID-19
